A Freeport man was arrested Saturday morning for pulling a knife on a 7-Eleven employee in West Hempstead.

Police say the incident began when Charles Grandberry entered the store on Hempstead Turnpike and started throwing items.

An employee called 911 and tried to stop him. Authorities say he then pulled a knife on the employee and fled the scene on a bike.

Police say a crack pipe fell out of Grandberry’s pocket as officers arrested him.

He has been arrested 63 times, according to authorities. Police say 12 of those incidents were felonies.
