Suffolk County police say an alleged drunken driver crashed into his neighbor's house early Sunday morning.
The incident occurred just after 3 a.m. at 3 Campus Lane in Lake Ronkonkoma.
Police say Dallas Vadala, 20, was traveling northbound on Lakeside Drive when he lost control of his 2010 Hyundai Sonata, drove onto his neighbor's lawn and crashed through the front door.
Police say there were two residents sleeping in the home at the time, but no one was injured.
Police arrested Vadala at the scene and charged him with DWI.
Investigators say Vadala admitted he drank a beer at a friend's house earlier in the night, but claimed it was brake failure and not drunken driving that caused the crash.
Vadala's attorney claims there is no evidence that his client was driving drunk.
Another neighbor described Vadala as a hard worker who logs long hours as the manager of a local 7-Eleven.
Vadala was ordered held on $10,000 bail or $20,000 bond at his arraignment this morning. He is due back in court on Nov. 26.
