Police are asking the public’s help identifying the driver who injured a woman in a hit-and-run on New Year's Day in Mastic Beach.

Authorities say the victim was walking at the corner of Neighborhood and Flower roads around 2 a.m. when a vehicle struck her and quickly left the scene.

The vehicle sustained front-end damage, according to investigators. There may also be damage to one of the rearview mirrors.

Police say they are offering a cash reward for information that leads to an arrest.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Suffolk County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
