A man has been arrested in connection to a fatal hit-and-run in Amagansett Wednesday.
East Hampton police say they have arrested Mark A. Corrado Jr., of West Babylon, for leaving the scene of an incident that killed a 36-year-old mother who was pushing her kids in a stroller.
Authorities say Corrado Jr. was driving on Montauk Highway near Bunker Hill Road around 11:45 a.m. when he struck Yuris Murillo Cruz, who was with her 1-year-old and 4-year-old children. They say he did not stop and drove east before abandoning his pickup truck in a wooded area.
Police later found the vehicle in a wooded area.
Corrado Jr. later surrendered to East Hampton detectives, police say. He was charged with leaving the scene of an incident without reporting, which is a felony.
Authorities have not released information about the conditions of the young children.
