A wild crash in Suffolk County Wednesday killed a woman and injured three other people, police say.
Just before noon Wednesday, a Hyundai slammed into the back of a tow truck on West Suffolk Avenue in Central Islip, according to police.
Police say a female occupant of the vehicle was transported to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore where she was pronounced dead. One male passenger is in serious condition and two others suffered injuries not considered life-threatening.
The auto body shop across the street captured surveillance video of the moment it happened.
Wil Diaz says he ran outside as soon as he heard the crash and watched the scene unfold.
"Saw a guy dressed in yellow top, yellow bottoms, got out from the driver's side and started walking towards the sidewalk -- like a little dizzy," says Diaz.
He says a group of people went to check on the other three passengers, including a woman who he says appeared to have a cut from the windshield.
"The driver decides to run, starts to run down the block and then other people stopped him to hold him down until the police got here," says Diaz.
