A Commack man was arrested for firing a rifle and shotgun in his backyard Friday night, police say.
Police were called to the Fulton Boulevard home just after 11 p.m. after a report that shots had been fired.
When they arrived, they say they found 58-year-old Mikhail Niyazov and 25 shell casings that had been fired into the air and the ground. Investigators say that both a shotgun and a rifle were fired.

Niyazov was held overnight at the Suffolk Police Department's Fourth Precinct.
Police say they took four weapons from his home.
Nobody was hurt and no property was damaged. Neighbors say that it's not the first time they've heard gunshots come from that home.
Niyazov is set to be arraigned today on reckless endangerment charge.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Suffolk Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
