Nearly 300 senior citizens in Elmont were evacuated from their homes by Nassau County officials Friday due to flooding.

It happened at the Elmont Senior Complex Center on Elmont Road.

Nassau County police say several feet of water flooded basements in multiple apartment buildings and the power went out.

They say Public Service Enterprise Group cut all power to the buildings as a precaution.

No injuries have been reported.

Officials say the seniors have been brought to a Red Cross shelter at New Hyde Park Memorial High School.

Crews were still on scene evaluating the situation at the complex.
