Police received a call around 4:30 a.m. about a car accident near Vanderbilt Parkway.
They say a car hit a tree on Redleaf Lane, near the parkway.
The person was pronounced dead at the scene. Their identity has not yet been released.
Roads in the area were closed for hours Saturday but have since reopened.
