Police: Cedarhurst man killed in Far Rockaway motorbike crash

According to police, officers responded to a motorbike collision in the vicinity of Beach 47th Street and Rockaway Beach Boardwalk on Monday.

Police say a Cedarhurst man was killed in a Far Rockaway motorbike crash.
According to police, officers responded to a motorbike collision in the vicinity of Beach 47th Street and Rockaway Beach Boardwalk on Monday.
Upon arrival, officers observed a 55-year-old male pedestrian with minor head injuries and a 26-year-old male with severe trauma to the head.
Police say preliminary investigation revealed a 25-year-old male was operating a motorbike westbound with a 26-year-old male passenger when the operator lost control, striking a bench and then a male pedestrian.  
During the initial collision with the bench, the male passenger was ejected and thrown to the ground.  
The passenger, identified as David Molina, 26, of Cedarhurst, was pronounced dead.
The 55-year-old male was taken in stable condition to Jamaica Hospital with minor head injuries.  
The operator of the motorbike fled the location on foot in an unknown direction.  
No arrests have been made.
