Nassau police say three people accused of a home invasion in Mineola were arrested after a chase on the Long Island Expressway service road.
Police received a call at around 3 p.m. that a burglary was taking place on Lincoln Avenue. They say the victim was targeted and that several thousand dollars was taken from the home.
The victim gave police a description of the car the suspects were driving, which was soon spotted by authorities.
Investigators told News 12 the suspects, described as two males and a female in their 20s, led police on a chase headed eastbound on Jericho Turnpike, then onto the LIE. The chase ended with a crash near the south service road and Route 107.
Inspector Kenneth Lack says the suspects also rammed police vehicles multiple times, which caused minor damage.
Police say three suspects are in custody with charges pending. The cash allegedly taken from the home has been recovered.
