Police have recovered the body of one man and are searching another after a boat capsized in Port Jefferson Harbor Tuesday afternoon.
The U.S. Coast Guard received a report around 3:35 p.m. that a 19-foot boat had capsized northeast of Old Field Point near Port Jefferson Channel.
The Coast Guard says it recovered the body of Charles Petrie, 80, of Holtsville.
Authorities are still searching for James Bilello, 74, of Bay Shore, who they believe was with Petrie.
A large-scale search was underway Tuesday night, involving helicopters and small Coast Guard vessels as well as marine and air units from Suffolk County. Other Coast Guard reinforcements were expected to join the search at midnight.
Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Mr. Bilello is asked to call the Coast Guard's Long Island Sound Command Center at 203-468-4401.
