Nassau County police say a car was set on fire in a man’s driveway in Garden City Park early Monday morning.
Ring camera shows a person running from the victim’s driveway eastbound on Second Street after the 2012 BMW was set on fire.
The victim says he and his father were able to put out the flames just before firefighters arrived at the scene.
Zawhar Samad, who shares the vehicle with a friend, says it was set on fire a day before his birthday.
"Worst birthday present ever. That's what confusing. We can't believe anyone would do this on purpose," says Samad.
Investigators are asking anyone with information on the car arson to call the Nassau County Crime Stoppers tip line at 1-800-244-TIPS.
