Police are searching for the people responsible for scamming an 86-year-old Massapequa woman out of thousands of dollars.

Police say the woman received a phone call from a man claiming to be a police officer. The man said the woman's daughter was arrested and needed $9,800 for bail.

The victim complied, and a woman came to her house to pick up the money.

Police say the suspect left the scene in a white Toyota Sienna.
