A 48-year-old man was found strangled early Saturday morning on the side of an East Farmingdale roadway, Suffolk police say.

Police say a resident found the victim lying in the grass face up on Garity Place between Morton Street and East Carmans Road.

A 911 call was made just after 1:30 a.m.

Police have identified the victim as Juan Carlos Diaz Geronimo, of North Amityville. He was pronounced dead at the scene. No arrests have been made.

Authorities say they are reviewing surveillance video from nearby businesses and homes.

"It's a tragedy when anyone losses their life," added a neighbor.
