A 47-year-old man was stabbed and pronounced dead at a hospital Saturday night near the Bay Shore train station, Suffolk police say.
Responding officers say they found a man stabbed behind 115 Railroad Plaza. He was transported to South Shore University Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Police say the victim, who was homeless, was identified as Shurvell Rush.
Neighbors who live near the train station say they often hear fighting outside their homes.
"I always hear people fighting and yelling outside my window. I am not surprised an incident took place at the corner," said one neighbor.
Police have not yet made any arrests. Anyone with information is asked to call Suffolk County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls are kept confidential.
