Four people have been arrested in connection to a fatal shooting at Haypath Road Park over the weekend.
Court records show 17-year-old Charles Spinella, of Kings Park, 19-year-old Patricia Quilliam, of Greenlawn and 25-year-old Kion Carter of Middle Island were charged with robbery and criminal possession of a weapon. Dimitri Filacouris, 21, of Old Bethpage, was charged with marijuana possession.
Parents of the accused teenagers were at the arraignment, but declined to comment.
The prosecutor said in court Monday that the shooting stemmed from a robbery at gunpoint, but didn't say who was the intended target.
Pierre's family say he was picked up Saturday night in Huntington by his friend, Kion Carter. They found out about the shooting a few hours later.
"My brother--I wouldn't even expect it," said Isaiah Pierre. "He's so young."
The court-appointed attorney for Spinella, Quilliam and Carter says the allegation is that drugs were stolen. He also told the judge that they helped bring the victim to the hospital after the shooting.
"To my understanding, there was no gun recovered and no proceeds of the robbery," said Geoffrey Prime.
According to court records, the shooter has not been arrested.
Pierre's family tell News 12 they are glad some arrests have been made but say they won't have justice until the shooter is charged.
