Nassau police say they've arrested three brothers from Cedarhurst for assaulting and robbing a man trying to sell a bracelet on Wednesday.
Detectives say an unidentified 31-year-old victim called up a number he believed was for Five Towns Jewelry Buyers in Cedarhurst. The person who answered said that the business was undergoing renovations and to instead bring the bracelet to a home on Redwood Lane.
When the man arrived around 2:30 p.m., he was allegedly dragged into the home and beaten with a baseball bat. Officers say he was also threatened with a sledgehammer as he was robbed of the bracelet, his driver's license and cellphone.
Daniel, Jacob and Dov Avital were arrested after an investigation. Each was charged with a number of crimes, including assault and robbery. According to White Pages, the three brothers live at the home on Redwood Lane that the victim was allegedly lured to.
News 12 Long Island team went to the Cedarhurst business listed to be located at 589 Willow Ave. The storefront was for a cellphone shop and a nearby business said that they have never known the storefront to be a jewelry shop.
