Police announced the arrests of three men in connection to multiple heroin and fentanyl overdoses across Long Island.
Police say three people in their early 20s overdosed on fentanyl-laced heroin in two separate Massapequa homes on May 30. One of the overdoses was fatal.
"The drug dealer named Randall Robinson and his drugs were connected to these overdoses," said acting Nassau Police Commissioner Thomas Krumpter.
Robinson, 31, and Lillian Vasquez were arrested Monday in a Rite Aid parking lot in Copiague. During the arrest, Vasquez's 2-year-old child was sitting in the back seat of the car they were in, police say.
Authorities say Robinson was found with 3 grams of fentanyl-laced heroin.
"He was dealing this very toxic poison," says Krumpter. "We did one buy from the subject and immediately arrested him rather than leave him on the street because…he was a danger to society."
Police also arrested Kevin Forrester, of Amityville, and Robert Evanson, of Deer Park, as a result of the investigation. Police say they had 22 grams of fentanyl in their car on Tuesday in Copiague when they were arrested.
