Police: 3 arrested in string of Nassau pharmacy burglaries
Three suspects have been arraigned in connection with a string of Nassau County pharmacy burglaries.
Authorities say Anthony Cataldo, 50, of Holbrook; Nicole Maupin, 29, of Bay Shore; and Bill Ford, 48, of Massachusetts, targeted drug stores in Nassau County and stole powerful prescription painkillers.
Police say the trio stole OxyContin, oxycodone and fentanyl from Transcript Pharmacy in Farmingdale last month after prying open a back door. The suspects allegedly broke into the Jenny Craig next door and unsuccessfully tried to cut through the wall to get to the pharmacy.
Investigators say the group also hit a Duane Reade in North Merrick on Monday and a Rite Aid in Massapequa on Tuesday.
Each time, the crew allegedly struck before 6 a.m. and shut off the power after breaking in. Police say Cataldo and Ford ransacked the businesses while Maupin stayed outside and served as a lookout.
All three were arraigned Wednesday in Nassau County court. Ford was ordered held on $5,000 bail. Cataldo and Maupin each had their bail set at $10,000.
