Suffolk police arrested a man Wednesday who they say falsely reported he was struck by a vehicle during a protest in Huntington Station.
Keith Harrison attended a protest on Broadway Monday when a vehicle struck a pedestrian. Harrison filed a police report, stating he was also struck and was transported to Huntington Hospital.
Police say an investigation found a protester was struck, but that Harrison was not. Harrison was arrested at his home Wednesday afternoon.
Harrison was charged with falsely filing a police report, a misdemeanor. He is scheduled to be arraigned later this month.
The other protester suffered injuries that were not life-threatening. The driver allegedly involved in the incident was charged with third-degree assault. His vehicle was impounded and he was given a desk appearance ticket.
