Police say two women were rescued from the Long Island Sound.
Police say the incident happened Tuesday around 6 p.m. just north of Cedar Bach in Mount Sinai.
Gabriella Carleo, 31, and Selena Miranda, 26, were on paddleboards and could not turn around because of the strong tides.
The duo called 911 and a Suffolk police helicopter was able to locate them. Officers pulled them to safety.
