Two people were arrested after police say they assaulted an officer in Westbury.
Police say they got a call that Courtney Stapleford was yelling and banging on doors near Carl Road and Jericho Turnpike on Saturday night.
Responding officers said they found Stapleford, 28, with suspect Travis Watkins.
While questioning her, police say Stapleford became aggressive and pushed an officer. They say the officer tried handcuffing her, but she kicked the officer several times.
Watkins then began yelling at officers to release Stapleford and physically resisted when the officers arrested him, police say.
The arresting officer was treated at a hospital.
Stapleford and Watkins have both been charged with assault.
