Police say two men were found dead in Lindenhurst on Monday.
They say a man was found with a gunshot wound on a Nevada Street front lawn just before 4 p.m.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
About an hour later, another man was found dead in a vehicle in a parking lot on Park Avenue, authorities say.
They say he also died from a gunshot wound.
Detectives believe the deaths are connected.
Police did not provide further details.
Nevada Street was closed off for hours as authorities investigated. It has since reopened.
News 12 spoke to one Nevada Street resident, who described the scene as “very scary.”
The back of a nearby shopping center on Park Avenue containing a supermarket, gym and liquor store was also blocked off with police tape.
