Police investigating possible social media admission in Mastic Beach slaying

Police say an 18-year-old has died in a Mastic Beach shooting.
According to police, the incident happened just after 9 p.m. Tuesday on Bayview Drive.
Police say Marcel Arrington was found with a gunshot wound in front of a home.
Arrington was rushed to Long Island Community Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
An anonymous person sent social media screen grabs to News 12 that say "dead man pack" and another that includes the name "Marcel."
There is also audio of a man taking credit for the murder.
Detective Lt. Kevin Beyrer says they have the audio recording but are taking it with a "grain of salt."
"It could be just someone bragging," Beyrer says.
There is no word yet on any arrests. Detectives believe the shooting was targeted.
Arrington played basketball and soccer, and recently graduated from William Floyd High School.
Arrington's family declined to speak with News 12 but said they will be holding a candlelight vigil Thursday at Bayview Park.
Investigators are asking anyone with information on the shooting to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
