Police: 15-year-old threatened to 'shoot up' Riverhead High School

A Riverhead High School student threatened students and faculty on Wednesday, police say.

A Riverhead High School student threatened students and faculty on Wednesday, police say.
A 15-year-old male student yelled into a classroom, "I'm gonna shoot up the school."
The student was detained by Riverhead High School security and was found to not be in possession of any weapons.
The student was arrested and taken to the Riverhead Police Department, in the company of his parents.
He was charged with one count of making a terroristic threat.
The student was processed and transported to Nassau County Juvenile Detention Facility where he will be detained until his arraigned at Suffolk County Superior Court on Thursday.
A search of the 15-year-old's residence for any weapons was also conducted. No weapons were located.
