2h agoA child drowned in a Bellport pool Monday evening, Suffolk police say.
Officers responded to 36 Association Road around 7:30 p.m. after a 12-year-old girl was found unresponsive in the backyard pool.
The child was a resident of the home. She was transported to Long Island Community Hospital in East Patchogue where she was pronounced dead.
Police say an investigation is ongoing.
