Police: 12-year-old boy fatally struck by pickup truck in Flower Hill
Authorities say the child was not using a crosswalk at the time of the collision.

A 12-year-old boy was fatally struck by a pickup truck while running across a road Monday in Flower Hill.
It happened around 6:30 p.m. on Middle Neck Road near Northern Boulevard, according to police.
Authorities say Nathan Ha, of Flower Hill, was not using a crosswalk at the time of the collision.
The 18-year-old driver who hit him remained on the scene.
Ha was pronounced dead at a hospital.
