Police say one person died in a four-vehicle crash in Deer Park Thursday night.
Police say a man driving a Camry and a woman driving an Accord were stopped at a red light on Grand Avenue facing eastbound, when a Mazda, driven by a man, struck both vehicles from behind around 10:30 p.m.
Police say the crash forced all three vehicles into the intersection, causing a collision with a Sentra being driven by a man southbound on Deer Park Avenue. The collision forced the Camry across Deer Park Avenue and off the roadway.
The driver of the Camry was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip, where he was pronounced dead. The name of the victim is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
The driver of the Accord, 45-year-old Ying Zhang, of Greenlawn, was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip for treatment of injuries not considered life-threatening.
The driver of the Mazda, 18-year-old Andra Perry, of Valley Stream, was transported to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore for treatment of injuries not considered life-threatening. The driver of the Nissan, 32-year-old Jordan Stern, of Melville, was not injured.
The vehicles were impounded for safety checks.
