Police: 19-year-old dies in head-on Melville crash

News 12 Log Island has learned one person is dead and two others are critically injured after a crash on the Long Island Expressway Monday night.
The incident happened around 10 p.m. near exit 49 south in Melville.
Suffolk police say the two cars collided and then went off the road and into the woods.
Josue Melendez-Florez, 19, of Hicksville, has been identified as the passenger killed.
Kevin Florez, 14, of Hicksville, was transported to Nassau University Medical Center in critical condition. Cristian Florez, 18, of Hicksville, was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital in critical condition.
Both vehicles were impounded for safety inspections.
