A wrongful death lawsuit against Disney has been dismissed.
The suit was filed by Jeffrey Piccolo, of Plainview, on behalf of his wife, Dr. Kanokporn Tangsuan, who died of an allergic reaction in 2023.
Court documents show Piccolo dismissed the case on Feb. 27.
The original lawsuit, which named both Ragland Road and Walt Disney World, said the restaurant guaranteed the food was allergen-free.
However after dinner, Tangsuan began “suffering from a severe acute allergic reaction,” and eventually collapsed to the floor, according to the suit.
Despite self-administering an EpiPen, the medical examiner’s investigation determined she died from “anaphylaxis due to elevated levels of dairy and nut in her system.”
It's not immediately clear if Piccolo reached a financial settlement with Disney.
News 12 has reached out to representatives for the family and are waiting to hear back.
