Five people are under arrest, accused of entering a home and taking a dog in New Cassel Thursday night.
Detective say officers responded to a home on Bond Street for an apparent disturbance at 11:25 p.m.
When officers arrived, police say they learned a 25-year-old woman was sleeping when a loud noise woke her up. The woman said she saw two men breaking in through a rear window.
The woman told police that one of the two men tried taking her pit bull.
Then, two women entered the home through a door that was unlocked by the two other suspects, police say.
One of the men was then able to take the dog before all four suspects left the home through the front door.
Police say the two men and two women fled south on Bond Street, and then entered a backyard at 1032 Prospect Ave.
