A popular pet store is closing up shop on Long Island.
After more than 50 years in business, Brentwood-based Petland Discount is shutting its doors at all locations.
The move comes after the company’s owner Neil Padron died of bladder cancer earlier this month.
The chain employed more than 360 people at dozens of locations across New York, New Jersey and Connecticut.
The chain had eight stores on Long Island, including Hewlett, Medford, Oceanside, Glen Cove, Port Washington and Elmont.
