Want to know how cold it’s been in Long Island recently? Too cold for penguins.

The Long Island Aquarium brought 20 penguins inside due to the frigid temperatures.

The South African black-footed penguins prefer milder temperatures, so when the temperature gets below 30 degrees, the penguins have to come inside.

The Long Island Aquarium has a holding area for the birds, complete with a pool and hutches for them. Sometimes the staff will even blow bubbles for them for enrichment.
