A pedestrian was struck and killed by a SUV in Central Islip last night.
Police say Luis Arevalo was crossing Route 111 and Chestnut Street when he was hit just after 9:30 p.m.
The 49-year-old later died at the hospital.
According to police, the 18-year-old driver who hit Arevalo was not hurt.
So far, no criminal charges have been filed.
