A man was killed in an early morning crash on the East End Sunday.
Southampton Town Police received the report of a motor vehicle accident around 1:30 a.m. on Flanders Road, near Oak Avenue in Flanders.
The department’s Community Response Unit and Patrol Division responded, along with the Flanders Northampton Volunteer Ambulance Corps and found a male subject lying in the roadway with serious injuries.
An investigation revealed that the pedestrian, Wayne Conforti Jr., 37, of Flanders, was crossing the road when he was hit by a 2016 Toyota Tacoma that was passing through the lighted intersection.
Conforti was transported to Peconic Bay Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, police say.
The driver of the pickup truck was not hurt.
