In this week's Paws & Pals, the Town of North Hempstead Animal Shelter presented three dogs looking for their 'furever' homes.
Belle is a senior Beagle, English Bulldog mix. Don't let her age fool you - she is quite sporty, and would make a fun walking companion, she loves a nice stroll on a nature trail. She was surrendered because her owner couldn't care for her anymore. Since being at the shelter, she's become very treat motivated and is learning her commands like a pro! Belle needs to be the only dog in the house, she will be happy in a home that will give her a lot of love.
Joey is a 1.5-year-old Lab Hound mix. He came to the shelter from a home in Georgia. He knew no commands, and didn't know how to walk on a leash, but he is making great progress. This energetic boy is quite smart. He would do best with an active family, and due to his exuberance, in a home with children aged 10 and up, and without any small animals or cats. He gets along with other dogs but would need a companion that can match his play level. Joey is very friendly and social, and has a lot of love to give.
Zane is a 5.5-year-old Terrier mix, and he came all the way from an overcrowded shelter in Texas. Zane started off shy, but has blossomed into a fun-loving and affectionate boy, who is quite charming! He loves to go for walks, is quickly learning his commands and is mastering the agility course. Zane loves the outdoors, but is happiest cuddling up. Zane seems to be dog selective, but loves his people.
