There was no resolution in court Monday for the Patchogue family that has been fighting to get squatters out of their home since July.
Ilene Paden says contractor Peter Faiella was supposed to be watching the house while they were away. Instead, Paden says that Faiella rented the home without their consent and has been collecting rent from two people.
Now, the people living there will not leave.
A judge granted possession of the home to Paden's mother in December. They also issued a warrant of eviction notice to the current occupants.
Faiella's attorney says Faiella made substantial improvement to the house and had permission to rent it out.
