New York state has once again denied parole for Matthew Solomon – the Huntington Station man who confessed to strangling his wife on Christmas Eve 1987. 

Authorities say Solomon and his wife Lisa had an argument before he strangled her and put her body into a garbage bag. He left her body on the side of Pulaski Road in Huntington. 

Then for five days, Solomon led her family and police on a phony search for his wife. He claimed Lisa had gone out for a walk and never returned. 

After her body was found, he confessed and was sentenced to 18 years to life in prison. 

Lisa's cousin, Steven Klerk, was the one who found her body a week after her death. Along with the rest of his family, he's glad Solomon's parole was denied.

"He hasn't changed. This is who he is and this is who he'll always be and if he's ever released, he'll always be the same sociopathic killer," Klerk told News 12. 

Solomon, 52, will be up for parole again in 18 months.
