Parishioners of a Roosevelt church are calling on their pastor to step down, accusing him of mishandling funds and dividing the church.
Church leaders at Calvary Baptist Church say they've suspended Pastor Arthur Kindle because his parishioners have lost faith in him. Kindle is accused of misappropriating church funds, removing and replacing several church officials and changing church by-laws without a vote.
"He has hurt a lot of people," says Deacon Al Reshard.
When they asked Kindle to step down, church leaders claim he changed the locks on the church doors. Church leaders plan to meet again on April 28 to vote to evict Kindle from the church's premises.
When reached for comment, Kindle's daughter Renee spoke for him, saying her father has done nothing but help build up the church.
