3h agoAn unexpected Long Island superstar emerged in the ring Wednesday evening when All Elite Wrestling took over UBS Arena.
Town of Oyster Bay Supervisor Joe Saladino transformed into a wrestling promoter for AEW champion and Plainview's own Maxwell Jacob Friedman.
Saladino presented Friedman with the key to Long Island in front of the crowd in Elmont.
"It was terrific, and to be in front of that crowd and be with MJF, who is a real Long Island hero, it just made for the perfect night," Saladino says.
For now, Saladino is sticking to his day job as town supervisor but admits it was fun and exciting to be part of the wrestling world.
