Oyster Bay man acquitted of charges in 2023 fatal stabbing of NYC teen

Gianluca Bordone was acquitted by a Manhattan jury on Thursday of manslaughter and assault charges related to the fatal stabbing of a 17-year-old and injuring a 19-year-old on Thanksgiving Day in 2023.

Bordone, of Oyster Bay, was 19 years old at the time of the stabbing and previously pleaded not guilty to the charges.

As News 12 has reported, NYPD officers responded to a 911 call for a male stabbed at 96 Lafayette St. at 1:30 a.m. on Nov. 23, 2023. When police arrived, they found the 17 and 19-year-olds with wounds to their torso.

Seventeen-year-old Rocco Rodden, of Warren, New Jersey, was pronounced dead after being transported to NYC Health and Hospitals/Bellevue.

Rodden was a junior at St. Joseph Regional High School.

The 19-year-old was transported to the same hospital in stable condition.
