Sunday marked World Mental Health Day – the second of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Colleen Merlo from the Association for Mental Health & Awareness shares, "In the past when there was a tragedy, there was a finite group that was affected and then there were helpers who could come in and really provide that support...and right now we're all in this together living through it and so there's no one who's going to come and be able to, you know, help us cope."
To improve your mental well-being, experts say the No. 1 is to focus on self-care. That includes eating well and trying to find physical activity to do every single day.
No. 2 is to be kind. Saying or doing something nice for others helps lift the spirits of many people.
Lastly, check in with family and friends daily.
