A new plan has been introduced to transform the Kings Park Psychiatric Center and surrounding Nissequogue River State Park.
The state parks department announced its master plan to restore the site.
The plan would renovate York Hall into a performance space and event venue.
It would also create multiuse fields including playgrounds and dog parks, develop a concession area and hiking trails and add a farmers’ market, botanical garden and museum.
The project is expected to cost tens of millions of dollars.
