Officials: East Norwich school closed following fire

According to officials, they received a call around 1:30 a.m. for a fire at Harmony Heights School.

Officials say a fire broke out at a school in East Norwich early this morning.

According to officials, they received a call around 1:30 a.m. for a fire at Harmony Heights Day School for Girls located on Walnut Avenue. School officials tell News 12 the school will be closed today.

The East Norwich Fire Department, with the assistance of multiple local fire departments extinguished the flames and smoke conditions.

The building was unoccupied at the time of the fire, and there were no reported injuries to responders.

The fire is not considered to be suspicious at this time.
