A Christmas Eve fire in Central Islip has left five families without a home for the holiday, officials say.
Flames tore through the house on Myrtle Avenue Sunday at around 6 p.m.
It took over two hours for 10 fire departments to extinguish the blaze.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
