Police say five people were injured in a Setauket house fire.
According to police, the fire broke out around 1 a.m. on Franko Lane.
A total of 10 fire departments arrived at the scene and extinguished the fire after several hours. Fire officials say gusting wind fanned the fire, which burned the home down to the ground.
Five residents of the house were transported to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment of not life-threatening injuries. Some members of the family suffered smoke inhalation and others had burns to their hands and face.
Neighbor Bobby Gazura says he is amazed and grateful that everyone was able to get out of the home alive.
"It's a miracle. Thank God they are alive - thank God everyone is safe," Gazura says
The cause of the fire is under investigation, but officials say it does not appear to be suspicious at this time.
News 12 is told everything the family owned was destroyed in the fire.
A GoFundMe page has been set up for the family.
