Off-duty Nassau officer suspended for allegedly driving drunk
News 12 Long Island has learned that an off-duty Nassau County police officer has been suspended for allegedly driving drunk.
Officer Michael Bjornstad was stopped near Exit 59 on the eastbound side of the Long Island Expressway around 4 a.m. Wednesday.
Court records say the Selden man was speeding and refused to take a breathalyzer.
Nassau police say Bjornstad, 39, has been assigned to the Second Precinct in Woodbury for 14 years.
