NYPD officers hand out gifts across NYC during annual Holiday Sleigh Ride
The NYPD Community Affairs’ annual Holiday Sleigh Ride hit the streets Friday.
From John F. Kennedy International Airport to the Verrazano Bridge, officers
made their way across the city. They were greeted with excitement from both

Gifts that were donated by a number of organizations, including the First
Responders Children’s Foundation and the NYC Police Foundation, were handed out
by NYPD officers.
“When they see the cops in this light, these kids will be raised up to know
that we here for them, doing positive things. They'll never forget things like
this,” says NYPD Captain Tarik Shephard.
The parade will also be held on Sunday and Monday after Saturday’s event was canceled
due to inclement weather. The stops they’ll be making can be found here.
