An NYPD officer was struck by an SUV during a hit-and-run in the Hunts Point section of the Bronx on Saturday evening, according to police.

It happened around 7:20 p.m. at Garrison Avenue and Whittier Street.

Police say multiple officers responded to a call about loud music at the intersection and were met by a large crowd.

One of the people in the crowd took off in a white Honda SUV and struck the officer.

Paramedics took the officer to Lincoln Hospital. He suffered a leg injury and is expected to recover, according to police.

The NYPD says the driver of the Honda drove away after the crash.

The person responsible remains on the run as of Sunday morning.
