NWS confirms tornado touched down in Sullivan County

An EF0 tornado touched down in Callicoon Center Thursday as storms moved through the region.

The National Weather Service Survey Team finalized its report on the Sullivan County tornado.

It was rated an EF-0, with peak winds of 85 mph.

It was on the ground for nearly 16 miles, where it was at its widest of 150 yards.

The tornado formed 1 mile south-southwest of downtown Callicoon Center at 11:57 a.m. and was on the ground until 12:25 p.m., where it dissipated 1 mile north of downtown Lewbeach.
